Leading people to the Lord is just the beginning
God allowed us to make a drastic move to Fairbanks. God is in control and rules and reigns from HIS throne and Daisy and I were ignorant at first to HIS plan for our lives. My wife, Daisy and I joined the Rodgers Baptist Mission in March of 2008. We went to Russian Mission, a small village on the Yukon river where Daisy was raised, with our pastor Gary Hampton for the first time in July of that year. Within a few months we were seeing people trust Christ as Savior. Daisy's youngest sister Lucille was the first to be saved after that first trip. Then Daisy's cousin Anutka was saved along with a young man named Jeffery. Daisy's brother George came to trust Christ then Jeffery's mother Lillian was saved and baptized into Rodgers Baptist Church by Bro. Gary Hampton. Our sister Lillian has since, gone home to be with the Lord. We can REJOICE!!! for our sister Lillian, however many more need to be saved. These are a handful of the precious souls saved since that first trip to Russian Mission. Our second trip out was a year later and our pastor Ron Thomas went with us and more souls were saved. I had not yet surrendered my life to the ministry at this time. However, in August of 2009 my heart could no longer contend with the burden to not only spread the gospel to lost people but to establish a church in the region in which we were reaching people at. I surrendered to Gods will for my life that August. God has since then allowed us to go to Kalskag twice and we have seen souls saved and God has worked in and is still working in the hearts of people in Kalskag. God also opened a door to Bethel,Alaska where we feel He is leading us to establish a church. ALL new believers in Christ NEED a place to be taught the WORD, a place to find refuge from the world, a place to have fellowship with other christian's, a CHURCH!!! I don't believe there is a christian alive that is strong enough to THRIVE in the LORD without a church to worship and grow in. Bethel is a city of 6000+/- people. The airport there has recently upgraded from part time hours to a 24 hour operation. 56 villages in the surrounding area are serviced by Bethel. Fuel, groceries, mail order products and/or postal services, medical services etc, all use Bethel as the HUB before going on to their respective destinations. Many of the villages in the Bethel area are a short snowmobile ride away in winter or a boat trip in summer. Short as in mere minutes away depending on where you want to go for a fraction of the cost of plane tickets from Anchorage and back. We desire to have a church in Bethel and from there, reach out into the villages of Alaska where people are dying without hope. The "village life" is a place of great depression and discouragement and bondage for too many people and the only hope for any of them is the GOSPEL, simple, plain and true!!! Please PRAY for us as we endeavor to serve our Savior together in this great ministry. May GOD be glorified and honored by all our efforts to reach a lost and dying world for Him.
